Kimon G. Onuma, AIA, of Onuma, Inc. is a recognized leader in the Building Information Modeling (BIM) world. He has used BIM on architectural and planning projects since 1993. Onuma has lectured at numerous conferences on BIM and Integrated Practice. He has recently presented at the National Academies of Science, Federal Facilities Council and at the Department of Homeland Security, CAO Conference in Washington, D.C. In 2006 Onuma wrote chapter six of the AIA Report on Integrated Practice, entitled "The Twenty-first Century Practicioner"(pdf). Onuma believes there is huge untapped potential in architectural knowledge which can be transformed into value through integration driven by open standards. Onuma’s mission is to revolutionize architecture and have a positive impact on the industry and environment.
